2. Usage procedures

2.1. Introduction

2.1.1. Introduction to operating procedures

This chapter contains a description of the procedures for operating the X-KEY Terminator machine. The instructions are presented in a step-by-step format, based on the functions available in firmware version 2.0 or higher.

The purpose of this section of the manual is to provide the operator with logical operating diagrams and available options that enable full and effective use of the machine's capabilities.

Info

Before proceeding with the procedures described in this chapter, please read chapter 1. Device operation carefully.

Tip

Please note that carefully following the messages displayed by the machine and complying with the instructions on the screen significantly reduces the risk of operating errors and improves work safety.

Warning

If you are using an older version of the firmware, please refer to the manual specific to that version.

2.1.2. Scope of the described activities

The chapter covers the following topics:

  • basic menu options,
  • axis movement functions,
  • procedure for scanning the original key profile,
  • key profile milling procedure, including available options and settings,
  • data transmission between the machine and the computer.

In addition, the most common problems and their solutions are described.

2.1.3. Operating diagrams

Example sequences of actions:

  • Simplified copying

START → Scanning → Milling

  • Scanning and transferring the profile to a PC

START → Scanning → Sending data to PC

  • Milling from a previously saved file

START → Read data from PC → Milling

  • Advanced copying (with PC editing)

START → Scanning → Send to PC → Edit on PC → Read from PC → Milling

2.1.4. Assumptions for the interface description

This chapter provides a general description of the procedures, without detailed screen shots or faithful reproduction of menu option labels.

This approach ensures that the manual remains up-to-date and clear, as the user interface is subject to constant modifications related to software development and the introduction of machine translations. The names of options and messages may vary slightly depending on the language version and software updates, but this does not affect their functionality.
